Response I.T. has since its inception taken a philosophy of returning back into the community some of it’s time, assets and skills to further the advancement and well being of the area and the people who live here. Some of these examples are:
Responding to community needs program
Computer recycling program:
The company and its technicians work on donated computers from its client base and then return these computers to local organizations like
- The Big Brothers and Big Sisters clubs that received this year alone 25 complete computer packages for their facility.
- Various local daycares now have computers for simple computer programs that beginners and young children can work from and learn new skills and have fun.
- Individuals in the community be it single mothers, senior citizens or parents who have children but can’t keep up with the price of computers receive computer components and complete systems to give them what they need to succeed in school and elsewhere.
Computer parts, printers etc that are no longer useful are passed onto a local electronics recycling company that recycles the individual electronics allowing us to divert electronic components from reaching the local landfill.
Local area support program:
This program has Response I.T. and its technicians providing support and or loans of equipment to various local events such as The Kids for Kids Hockey Tournament and the local Kingston Jaycee conferences to name a few. We also provide to local technical training institutions, an environment where their students can work on the computer recycling program alongside Response I.T. technicians and practice their newly acquired skill-set thus allowing them to show practical work experience on resumes for potential employers. Charitable and volunteer organizations realize a reduction in their costs of service and hardware supplies allowing their dollar to go farther. Response I.T. actively supports local community mental health services by participating in career days and providing training to their clients.
Business support program:
Participates with and supports the local KEDCO office with sponsorships of various programs for new businesses and startups. Mentoring with new businesses is also a large part of this program. Active participation in the local Chamber of commerce and other organizations by all members of the company. |
